I've got the motor out of my Dart and would like to paint the engine compartment. Should I use the same paint as I would on the rest of the body? Base, clear?

Thanks, Justin

Just spray bomb it black. That looks the best anyway.

I'm not a painter so I can't say 100% but I would think you would use regular base/clear. I have read articles stating that once the paint has cured...to use a very heavy duty wax in the engine comp. because it will be hard to wax it after everything else in re-installed. That probablly doesn't help you any though. Sorry.

I used SS on mine, makes it easy to do touch ups.

I've done both Base/Clear and Single Stage but I would suggest Single Stage just for ease of application and touch-ups. I just sprayed my compartment about a week ago with Single Stage.
