The one thing you want to TRY for is having equal length primaries... this s a timing thing for the exhaust, so they will draw on the overlap at the proper time(equal length)... but also.. the number one thing is to get them to FIT in the car so you do what you have to to make them fit... on a true merge collector they have to be designed to fit the engine and RPM.. they are NOT a one size fits all

Especially those that have limited camshaft core availability when exhaust event timing is very important. I'm building a new set. Mike, let me know exactly what you need. I think I remember. Will have 6 feet of 4" pipe with X-pipe after collector. Will guess 2"/2.125"/2.250" 6"/10"/12" on primary length. Career best 8.02 @ 169 at 3050# and 10" tires small block power.

That was from Ron Rhoades who builds headers for a living and is the fastest sb nos car in x275 in the country. His thinking has gotten his 23° small block to go 7.08 in the quarter letting out at 1000-1100 feet because it's geared for the 1/8. I guess he doesn't know what he is talking about you know more.
