Has anyone ever used one of the ACC torque convertors? If not what are you using, and how well does it perform? Thanks for the help.

Tried them about 9 years ago along with a friend both had very poor results. One cost a trans rebuild the other rubbed on the crank bolts and was returned. I can not tell you if they any better now but they will not get any more of my money.

I had nothing but HORRIBLE experiences with them. After two converters, both of which I had to pay shipping for back and forth, I ended up demanding my money back.....which I finally got.....3 months later! Steer very clear of them

I have a buddy that bought one, his transmission was rebuilt before he put the ACC torque in. The converter went bad and sent metal shavings throughout the transmission. You could look down inside of it and it was broken, the insides would wobble around all over the place. This was within 75 miles of installation. Won't buy another!!

Bought one of their 2,500 stall. What a POS. Would slip way past 4,000 RPMs when cold, then dumped lots a metal filings in my trans. Had to re-rebuild. Steer clear of them.

Man I just called them last week. Good time for a post. I need a hybred converter so I can run the small hub on my 273 motor and the rest of the converter set up to run a later trans with more splines on the input shaft. I asked him 3 times if this was doable and he said no problem. I said I wanted 3000 stall. he said no problem. send us your core and we will build it. 85 bucks. I'd like to hear more feedback........

I ran a BossHog 4000 stall all last year, car runs 12.0s to 12.teens with no problems. It was cheap and I questioned that but it works well so far

Thanks for the replies. They are posting these convertors all over ebay and seems to be a good price compared to the competition, but I'm leary considering the posts here. The old addage, you get what you pay for would seem to apply, especially in a critical piece as a torgue convertor. I just had a generic 3500 stall TC implode after doing my engine breakin. New tranny shot to hell with shavings, so I'm not taking any chances the second time around. Thanks again.

Never had an ACC, but had a G.E.R. many years back,
never again! Even had bad luck with a TCI.
I went with Turbo Action and never looked back.
Well worth the extra $500-$600 over the cheap
junk $hit.

Ran a Boss Hog also and it was terrible. Slipped bad all the time. Was told by someone in the buisness its stock and they just bend the fins so it will slip more and weld it back together. Ran a JW and loved it.

Well after reading these post, and making a whole bunch of phone calls all day, I'm going with a Turbo Action convertor for my coin. Thanks again for the help folks.

I met the owner of ACC at Hunter's Auto Expo in Nashville. IIRC this guy is in Muscle Schoals Alabama. You guys are scaring me with these stories.

I have a brochure somewhere. Lots of Mopar stuff.

Lane Automotive sells Allstar name brand converters. Affordable and supposed to be good quality.

Keep old mopars alive.

It is in Muscle Shoals. I talked to them this a.m. Said they build about 7000 converters a year.

many years ago like 25 they were good. later at some point they were sold and were hit and miss.
as of 1 year ago someone bout the Bamam converter place and got them back to the way they were years ago. i know someone who bought a few and all of them run great.
He's a ford guy and says they are a ok now. I myself have not run one so it is second hand info but the guy is normal straight when he tells you something so i donlt think he was BSing me.
