I want to put a nice intake system on my motor but I can't decide what to go with for the most power. The car going to see the street and strip. I'm building a stroked 440 to 500 for it. It has a MP 590 cam, and fully CNC'd aluminum heads. I have 11 to 1 comp. pistons. and its a 727 auto. Any ideas are welcome. Thanks

THe 590 cam like a good sized carb, and the best all around set-up for it is the 4150 intake with a 4500 adapter, and a 1050 dominator. Even on a 440 with 2.14 valve heads, your at almost 600hp with 12:1 and just a wicked nasty low budget motor.
In a bigger motor, I would go with a more modern cam. I ran the .590 with two 780dp carbs on an M1 on a +.30 440, but many of my friends had the 1050 on their 440's. This was before all the custom carb shops came into play, the 1050 combos were just awesome on mild 440's.
With the advent of the really good annular boostered carbs from Quick Fuel, the TR can out perform a 1050, but the cost is double. Just depends on preference and budget I guess.

Thanks for he input. I think I'll try a dominator for my set up and maybe a different cam.

I went from a 950 to an annular booster 1050 Dominator and was surprised at the improved mid range response. I really like the Dominator better than the 950 on my street/strip 500".
Master, again and still
