i have an engine i want to throw together for a race car, the block is a little rusty, will it survive if i sand blast the cyls then wash and hone them.

If it's only a little rust a hone will clean it up.

I would definitely not sandblast it. I'd price having a shop bake it clean & most shops due to EPA regs are loosing the solvent tanks & going to the big ovens(which cleans them spotless) to clean blocks then mike it & see where you're at.
