I am looking for a hyd. roller cam for my 68 Charger. Any ideas on what would work best (and who to order from?) with the below combo. Thanks for any suggestions. I did the COMP cams site form and they just suggested some generic out of the book cam which I didn't think would work very well - 23-712-9 is the one they suggested.
68 Charger Needs to make good vacuum for the power brakes and headlight doors. 440 with 4.15 stroke crank (493ci) Auto trans with 25-3000 stall converter Stock 440 source aluminum heads - springs will get changed to match cam. Want to retain the stock HP exhaust manifolds, 2.5 in rest of system. 26in tall tire. Mopar M1 dual plane aluminum intake. FAST EZ EFI Pump gas 11.2 static compression 3.23 suregrip rear

Dwayne Porter at Porter Racing Heads (fast68plymouth). 802-951-1955 Great guy to deal with and he'll custom spec you the right cam from the start.

Or call Cam Motion. Or Bullet. Or Mike Jones.
Always better off NOT calling a big company like comp and getting a cam, unless you are Porter or someone who buys thousands of dollars of stuff and they don't get a $10.00/HR flunky answering the phone. If you call Cam Motion or bullet you will get someone who knows cams. If you call Jones, you get to talk to Mike himself.
Hell, I'd call Jim at Racer Brown too. I have no idea what he has for HRT cams but you might be surprised.

Just because you think it won't make it true. Horsepower is KING. To dispute this is stupid. C. Alston

Thanks all for the replies. Looks like there are several choices to pick from. I will do some checking.

That 23-712-9 would probably work okay. It is 236/242 duration with .540 lift. Basically a hyd roller version of the MP .528 which is a good cam for a street driver with exhaust manifold. If you call Dwayne he'll probably use that cam and spread the lobes out to 112.
I have a set of Comp hyd roller lifters that are new in the box if you're interested. I'll sell them at a discount to new price so you can save yourself some money.

Thanks for all of the great suggestions. I think I will give Porter a call and see what they suggest.
