Looking for a good quality bolt on glass hood.
Would like to retain original bolt on type, and stock hinges.
I think I remember light weight springs for the a-body hinges being made?
Which hood is good quality?
Thanks very much!!

Wally.

Glasstek here and the quality is terrific. I have 2. 68 charger stock type fiberglass and the lines and shape were perfect. My other lightweight pin on is also very good fit. That is my experience.

Let us know what you choose.

I will do that - looking into them right now!
Does anyone know of the A-body lightweight hinge springs?
Thanks all!

Just checked - I'm looking for a bolt on hood w/6 pack scoop.
Glasstek doesn't list one on their site.

look at K car or daytona/lazer[G body ?] hood springs for low tension ones. you may need a prop rod, maybe not.

My VPN bolt-on hood is very nice ('70 Cuda). Not sure if they make a Demon hood, but check their website. They sell the lightweight springs too.

Just painted a 4 inch cowl bolt on hood and rear glass bumper for a friends 71 Demon that he got from AAR fiberglass and they were both excellent pieces.
For the hood springs he picked up some from a some sort of mopar front driver from a salvage yard and they work great.

I have a US-Body hood and several AAR/Stinger hoods. The US-Body hood is a major POS and the Stinger hoods are very nice.

Wow....Good to know, thank you.
I see they are all about the same price, so a few more $$ for a good one is no biggie.
I'll let everyone know what I do (If I do)

Thanks all,

Wally.

US Body source changed ownership a few years ago. I've asked about their stuff and received positive feedback on it. For me, they are close enough to drive out and pick it up-and return it if I'm not happy.

Its possible that the quality got better. But the one I got some years ago for my 67 Coronet is terrible. The back edge looks to be cut out with a jig saw and the back edges folded up like butterfly wings. Not to mention wavey like the ocean...........
