i'm having a hard time getting my throttle cable set up so that it returns to idle, and i can get WOT. i'm using stock brackets, which i have modified, on the stage V manifold, which has the carbs in different positions than stock. so my throttle linkage setup is a bunch of parts all put together, but it's close.

question is that with my foot to the floor, i can open the throttle plates another 1/8" or so, that being measured at the top of the plate. with the throttle plates not quite fully open, am i losing anything flow wise? it seems that at that point, that little bit isn't going to increase flow, at least not much.

i've been messing with this for a while as i have little bits of time, and am getting closer. it's working well now, but if i'm losing anything i'll keep going to get them open all the way.

Instead of messin with pieces parts just ge3t a new bracket setup.I tried to cobble the old setup on the 65 with the Dominator and M1 intake.Worked so so.Then I bought the right brackets from Mancini and its right.Wasted a lot of time playing with crap just to not spend 30 bucks.Plus it looks better.Rocky

the pieces i have on there are mostly stock reproduction, so it has a very stock look, which is what i want. as far as i know, there is only one off the shelf setup i could get, and it doesn't look anything like stock, so i'm willing to mess with this.

but i need to figure out if i'm fine where i am, or if need those throttle plates completely open.

Get down on the floor and check out your gas peddle.
my 68 had a stop in the at rest position that I trimed a bit allowing more travel.

have done that, almost there. it's a pain to take the plate out that holds the pedal linkage to the floor, so if i don't have to do it again, i won't.

once i figure out if i need to have those throttle plates completely open, i'll go from there.

Myself I would think there would be SOME gain to be had considering how small the throttle bore area is & you are very CLOSE to solving it & it's in your head so you KNOW it needs to be finished out & when your done with it you'll feel good about finishing it & then you can move onto the next issue

so true! even if there is no real gain to be had, I know it's not really correct, and so i'll beat my head against the wall no matter what it takes to get it right.

oh, and after this, there are no more issues. the car is, and always will be, completely done.
