It is a 70 hood, but photo's are not close enough to see manufacturing details, weld details etc, etc.

Checkout the date code on the latch. It won't tell you if the hood is an original, but maybe the latch is?

Hard to tell without a close up of the spot welds.
Take a look at the attached. I have closer pics if required. The hood you have pictured is a 70 hood as there are not any crumple zones. My 2.5¢

Hey...are you the guy who was wondering if your hood was supposed to have the two notches next to the large holes in the front? If you are..what did you find out? I never heard.

Yes, that would be me........
I welded up the notches, will have to post pictures, looks fine now, just like the pictures from another 9-69 hood. I guess that some street squirrel boogered up the holes.

I think that car has been together for a while now, so I'm thinking it's original. Nice car, selling about 40k less than what it traded hands for a few years ago.

It's Age has little to do with it's originallity, kits and converted hoods have been around for over 20 years. The front "wells" on the forward of each side look suspiciously small, a trait of all repro hoods out there except Harms kits. Also, while basically correct, OEM trim ring nuts do not look shiney like that on original hoods, so those have likely been replaced OR.... they are part of what's included in a new reproduction conversion kit such as Harms used to provide, or added to someone elses kit. In person I can spot a kit from 10 feet (All except Harms, thier's require a very hard close up look) A closer pic of some areas would confirm some of these details, a full on shot from several feet does not provide enough conclusive evidence.
