Really pretty, like I think I said before I did almost the same thing. I didnt like the gold when I got it, only in March of 2008, but its really grown on me. I wanted to go black but I think the gold really fits the car, im thinking I will repaint it gold.

Whats the combo on the 383 now? Is it a column shift car?

It looks as good under the hood as the outside does. Nice clean looking car inside and outside. I like the stock sleeper look like you have there. People are gonna think it still runs low 14's when you spank them with an 11 second et. Ron

That's exactly the idea, Ron! Outwardly, it will look identical to what you see here. I'm planning on still running the 383 decal on the air cleaner, and stock valve covers will stay.

Right now its a 2-bbl spec 383 with the stock small valve 516 heads. I've added a 750 Holley on an RPM manifold, a set of 1-3/4" headers, and a Delta cams hydraulic grind (238/.480 & 242/.496) with Rhodes lifters, a 2800 RPM converter and 3.91's.

Ive learned my lesson with this motor. It's way overcammed for the compression (advertised 9.2:1) and really is a bear at an idle.

I'm ordering rods for the new motor today.... One more piece to the puzzle!

If Ron likes the combo, I'm happy. I love your 63, Ron. And my best buddy has a black 70 340 Swinger just like your sons, only with a 408 Small Block.
