An old repeat question I'm sure but here goes...
Looking at doing an engine swap in a '79 D150 truck.
The truck currently has a 318 2bbl/4speed man.trans.

I would like to swap in a 360 4bbl and keep the same 4 speed trans. I know on the automatics this will cause driveline vibrations an most of them can be corrected by knocking off some counter balance weights.
Will this work the same way for the 4sp flywheel or do I need a new one specifically for the 360 ?
Also I don't remember which had the counter balance weights, the 318 or the 360...by the way,the 360 will be pulled from auto trans car, anything else to look out for other than oil pan/motor mounts.... Thanks

A flywheel for a 360 should take care of the balance situation.

Also, see if the crank is drilled to take a transmission pilot.

There's an adaptor pilot for some cranks which werent bored to the right diameter for a regular pilot bushing.

Seduce the attractive, and charm the rest. ****** 489 C.I.D., roller cam, aftermarket heads, tunnel ram, stock '54 Dodge rear axle assembly: which of these doesn't belong?

all swaps no probs

you need a 360 flywheel as it is balnced for the 360

you knock the weights of a 360 verter to use on a 318

every thing else swaps right over

may want to check the end of the crank to make sure its drilled and you will need to install a pilot bearing in the end of the crank as well
