Well after all of that, the motor was junk. Too much water went into the motor from the cracked head. I was waiting for the time that there was no oil pressure and it finally came.

We ended up building a 408 stroker based on a 360. It's been in the car for a couple of months now and we had a problem keeping the little beast cool. Spectra makes that factory looking 2 row radiator for these cars but it wasn't up to the task. We ended up getting a Champion 3 row and it solved the problem.

That's a slant 6 shroud that I turned upside down and it centers on the radiator perfectly. The Champion showed up in good shape and it mounted right to the car.

I had a short clutch that provided about 1/2" clearance from the radiator. Hayden makes a "Muscle car" clutch now that's shorter for just this application but luckily mine worked. It's the Hayden 2947.

The factory shroud leaves a gap at the top and bottom. I tried using some thick foam weatherstripping but it was not wanting to stay in place.

He is working on his A and P license now. That's his Airframe and Powerplant aircraft mechanics license and he should be done next August.

He's had it to the track a couple of times. His best was a 14.0 with a 1.0 Reaction time. That's with a 741 3.23 Suregrip rear end. I have a 4.56 742 rear sitting on the bench.

Here is the final product. He has been working at a pizza place for a while and occasionally has to make a delivery. He interviewed at AutoZone and is just waiting for a call. I told him that he needed to take the Duster to deliver at least one time.

I would imagine that more than a few pizzas have been delivered in a Duster, but it's probably been a few years.
