......it really doesnt matter, westcott showed at maple groove this year that the chevies cant run with a hemi at the same weight/power factor. westcott was even faster than all barton cars with 125lbs in his car, weighing about 3340, to bartons' customers 3210. .
jeff
It'd be interesting to see how the Chevy's would run with another carb.

everybody builds the engines .060 over, and some put a .013 stroke in it to make 440 cubic inches. if its just .060 over its 438 inches.
they are working on getting nhra to allow the 64 car in ss/ah..
they made a seperate class for the hemi cars, calling it ah, allowing both manual and automatic trans cars to save the hemi shootout, or to save the sanctity of the hemi class. they now allow cars to move up or down a class in super stock. that means that all the chevrolet "b" cars could race a/a now. it really doesnt matter, westcott showed at maple groove this year that the chevies cant run with a hemi at the same weight/power factor. westcott was even faster than all barton cars with 125lbs in his car, weighing about 3340, to bartons' customers 3210. .

The shoot out at the Dutch last fall was a cool deal. Armstrong did out 60 the A cars but that was it. Final was anticlimactic as Armstrong did not make it down the track. Charlie had him covered anyhow. Like to see more of the TOP/SS.

Hale had this on EBag a little while back. It didn't meet reserve at 75k. Anyone with some deep pockets ready to run SS/AA? You'll need to get a new bullet from Jeff to be competitive though.
Thats if you already have a hauler and trailer, some spare parts Dyno room, machine shop, and grade points, If Not your pockets better be real deep,I think to get started you will need around 500000,00 Now you have to get the car to run in the 8.50 range, and that was last year ,any guess on what they will run this year? More post on what you think the cost would be?

If I read the rules correctly, the AH cars cannot move up or down a class, to quote Flounder from Animal House " This is gonna be great"

THANK GOD FOR STICK SHIFT CARS !!!!!!!!!
Is the NHRA going to saddle the stick cars with extra weight so they are uncompetitive with the boring automatics ?
