With trans in car can you tell which spine count it has as far as the input shaft goes.Thanks for your time.

Yes, remove the bottom cover from bellhousing and look up. depending on the clutch, if you cannot see any splines, you can see the O.D. of the collar the T.O. Bearing rides on. That collar is larger diameter on a 18 vs a 23 spline.

What body style? Though not definitive , if it's an A body trans it's not an 18 spline unless it was built that way by someone.

B , not the B/E , depending on the year it may have a FULL VIN on the trans ID pad .

good ideas on the VIN pad, but it could have anything installed inside over the last 5 decades.
