NANKET master N Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 4,951 northwest USA	Yes, remove the bottom cover from bellhousing and look up. depending on the clutch, if you cannot see any splines, you can see the O.D. of the collar the T.O. Bearing rides on. That collar is larger diameter on a 18 vs a 23 spline.

JohnRR I Win Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 75,005 U.S.S.A.	What body style? Though not definitive , if it's an A body trans it's not an 18 spline unless it was built that way by someone. B , not the B/E , depending on the year it may have a FULL VIN on the trans ID pad . running up my post count some more .
