Heres a couple pics of a Clone R/T I am finishing up.
One last order and I should have it wrapped up in a couple weeks.

When I purchased.

Thanks Guys. I typically try to build one a year and I have to admit this one definitely has my attention. My first charger I have built as we are usually doing E-bodys but I really love the lines on this car. Did not love them very much when I was sanding them.. My dad and brother are helping me finish up individual parts. So gotta give them a shout out. My dad is finishing up the grille now and is coming out fantastic, my brother is great on stainless so he is tackling the mile of trim on this car. It works out great as we take care of the monotonous work on each of our cars ourselves and when they get close we all drop what we are doing and just get the cars done.

Dante,Herbs and Jeff at 521Restorations have added to the rest of the parts for the car.

Yup. You are very correct. Good eye. Put them on just to roll it around. They will be off about 5 times as the the brake drums are empty right now. wink
Have to get the front tires on it so I can get it on our assembly lift.

Thanks again for the compliments.

I've been a fan of your work as well as your family's work. I'm loving it. My favorite B body is a 68 Charger. You decided on the 440 engine?

Unfortunately it does not have a code as my local paint guy spent an hour matching a 68 valve cover I had.
The actual paint however is just single stage Nason.

Awesome car, and I love the single stage paint.

If you were to shop for a lift again would you still do the 4 post drive on or do a 2 post frame lift?

They both have their pros and cons.
This four post works great for assembly of everything except for the drivetrain as we assemble everything from the bottom and the engine cradle does not fit between the ramps very well.
The major pro on the four post is being able to open the doors completely while assembling.

My two post is much more commercial and works great for the heavy duty assembly and grunt work.

The four post needs to be installed and connected to the concrete even though they state it does not. It was way to wobbly for me to be climbing under it without anchors..

Man that thing is sweet. I have been trying to decide whether or not to put a stripe on my Bee, and that black on black looks really good.

Thanks for the compliments. Will have some new photos this weekend. Engine is going in tomorrow. Also ordered new side glass. Went through 8 pieces of original side glass and they were all scratched. Will update on how AMD glass works out.

In response to a post above.

I know you can buy the correct paint from Frank Badalson. I have also seen over on DC.com where M7 Porsche is used for engine paint.

scroll down in the link and you can see what it looks like.

Oh. Forgot to answer this.
The paint on the car is Duponts old Chroma base/clear system.
It has a new #### name and Dupont dropped the line. It is about 1/2 price of what it was when Chroma. It has a very high solid clear that buffs out great.
This Superbee was painted 20 years ago with Chroma clear system. It still buffs out like glass!

I would use PPG but out local supplier is.... hard to deal with.. I will leave it at that.

I like the chroma base/clear too.

The ppg stuff has gotten ridiculously priced anyhow.

Your cars are awesome!

Please keep posting pics.

Thank you.

Dash is finally in. Now moving onto glass.

FYI. Bought a Bendix repro booster. Works great but not a simply bolt in. The circular section on the back was too large to fit through my backing plate and the firewall area of my car. Both had to be opened up in order to fit correctly. Once completed it fit nicely.

Worked on the glass last night.
First time with AMD glass. Is wavy on top edge as everyone mentioned but overall I am pretty happy. The fit was good except when installing the chrome strips. They went on very difficult which I guess is good that they wont fall off like original ones usually do.

My only issue so far is that I need to find out how to get the glass to roll down flush with the door. It is up about 1/2 to 3/4" inch when I am all the way down cranking. I will mess around with it tonight.

Thanks Guys.

This is my first charger build and I am pretty sure I will have to build another one... Really love the lines on this car!
Every part I add just keep bringing the car together.
Back down to the garage tonight to put in the other side glass and tackle the windshield next.

For some reason I think the E bodies go together a little quicker than the B bodies.

But it has been warm so maybe before the white stuff up

Yes. Worked all of the long weekend on it. Getting very close to firing it up. TTI showing up this week. Here are a few updates. Using existing upper door pads as they are crazy expensive and I am not having great luck with some of the repro stuff. Its great that we have the parts but boy a lot of it needs some tweaking...

I have no idea why that last pic is black and white. It is colored in my folder... Weird.

Thanks Finoke.

Unfortunately this is my "keep the hobby going car".

I typically try to build cars that I like however not really, really like. This charger is my favorite build so far out of many, many cars I have built. I will hate to see it go.

I have another 68 Charger R/T that is an R6, black gut, 4 speed, dana car. It is rough, very rough. After doing this one I am going to have to get that car up and running for a keeper. You can just make it out behind the black one in this pic.

Interior nearly wrapped up.
Car is running and just wrapping up the brakes, exhaust and a final buff and then will have some snowy back ground pics!

Car is wrapped up and looks even better outside. One thing this car has taught me is that I need to build one for myself to keep!

Thanks guys. Appreciate it. It was a great build and my first charger build so I learned a bunch along the way. The redlines come off tonight and the Mickey drag radials and 69 dodge dish caps will be replacing them. The redlines are going back on my bee.
I will shoot some pics when I switch them over. Will change the looks a little I am sure.

So if this is a "keep the hobby going project" does it already have a future owner?

Said good bye to the Charger on Friday.
It found a good home side by side with some really nice cars.
Now time to pay back my dad with some time on the charger he is working on.. Couple more pics to finish off this post.
I used a rollback to move the car to a better (not so muddy) location to load the car. The driver was the same guy who dropped it off at the blaster. He said it seemed like a few weeks since he picked it up. I laughed and said it feels like 5 years to me..
