Have a 97 ram has been sitting for about 6 years outside. Figure I would siphon all the fuel from the tank with the hose and then disconnect the fuel rail and cycle the key a few times to flush any other garbage out of the fuel system after adding fresh fuel any suggestions?

Going to take it out to a buddies to make a field car out of it to teach my son how to drive

Thanks

I would probably just pour fresh gas into the tank and hit the key.

Like I said the first time also change the oil and filter.

I think your plan will work. For a little extra insurance, you could pull the plugs and give each cylinder a little shot of oil and then turn it over by hand from the damper bolt to make sure everything is free and has some lube. Would not hurt to crank it with plugs out to get the oil flowing before starting also.

Well I tinkered around with that thing tonight and couldn't get the hose down the gas neck so I put a fresh battery in it, 5 gallons of fresh gas. It fired up within a matter of a second or two and sat and idled like it was brand new I can't believe it..

Gonna stop and get oil and filter tomorrow.

Thanks for the tips
