Am prepping two for new woodgrain.

What color black is used for the inset stripe around the chrome rim? Flat, semi-gloss or gloss?

How about color for the little triangular emblem in the middle?

And has anyone ever come up with a satisfactory way to repair a broken off screw post on the backside?

I have repaired a broken post by doing the following.

Drilled a hole where the broken stud was.

Taken a screw and ground the thread area away to match the other posts.

Light counter sink on hole for screw to mount flush and then I used a two part epoxy to mount the screw and let it harden in the hole.

I then had to grind the screw head a little so it would be flush with the face.

Put on the new wood appearing face.

Mounted in door panel.

That's kinda what I was thinking too. I also have the piece that broke off, so more than one option.
