I have a 65 Belvedere w/power steering. Is the easiest way to remove the steering column to pry the steering-shaft coupling off, or is there an easier way?

Should be a bolt through the coupling at the power steering unit. Remove that bolt and the bolts under the dash. My Polara has just two bolts under the dash, my Charger and Dart have four bolts under dash. Good luck.

No. Down at the steering box there is a little one inch wide clamp looking thing. The bolt goes through that clamp and through the side of the input shaft on the steering box.

Just below the block you are trying to dis assemble should be a keeper that is either round or clamp like. The round one has a roll pin through it the clamp style has a bolt. My 66 has a roll pin my 63 has a bolt.

Don't forget to disconnect the wiring too!

Thanks much. That was much easier than ripping into the shaft column housing

Wires and transmission cables disconnected.
