One year there I found a 4 bolt 340 block for $200 and it was all machined. Got it from a old roundy round racer and its still my back up W-2 engine

I like going for the fun of it. I am bummed im out of town this year. I like how you see all the bros parting oout new escalades selling the rims and interiors. I wonder were all that stuff came from.

I was there in 89. It was amazing to me at the time. I missed out on a factory 440 sixpack intake, carbs, air cleaner, etc.. for $300 because all I had was Cdn money and he wouldnt take it.
Ive always wanted to return, but it sounds like its gone downhill.
I would say it has gone the other way... I usually go every year and most of the time pick up some Mopar stuff.... but there is a TON of chevy and ford stuff.... along with a TON of junk. Plus I pick up my grinding and polishing supplies about every other year. If your going for a certin Mopar part... you most likely would be wasting your time and money

I also remember a guy who had row after row of 9" housings braced and whatnot, then he must have had 100 9" center sections with endless gear ratios and spools etc... It might have all been junk , I was only 19, and pro street was thee thing at the time.
No doubt the internet has made what you need much easier to get and probably did permanent damage to swap meets everywhere.
I know who you mean, I and a buddy bought a couple of 9" centers from him... I bought it for my street rod, by the way he was there last year

Hmmmmm ... if this was good ....Walter P should be even BESTer !
The problem with the WP swap is they dont know what a race part is... to me that place is nothing but over priced junk... but I did sell alot of sheet metal there a few years ago(fenders, doors, hoods). A buddy and myself bought some parts and body finished them at our body shop class and sold them there, I wish we would have charged more OR had more parts, we ran out fairly early in the day. They were primered and ready for paint

WPC is on the 25th. That's the one at the college. Too much to do around here today so no state fair swap for me. It'll be the first year I missed in like 10 years, but no big deal. I'll go look at 100,000 different Big Block Chevy intake manifolds somewhere else I guess The nice thing about going to the wrong swap meet is.... alot of times "the wrong stuff" is considered worthless and prices are low. Last year at WPC which indeed is a resto oriented meet, I found a set of TD rockers for W7/8/9 heads, NIB, for $600....I thought that was a decent deal....I also picked up my Weld draglite wheels at a WPC meet. $200 for all four....nobody else bought them because they were drilled for slicks When race stuff is found there it's usually dirt cheap, especially towards the end......

Mancini gave us a good deal on a couple of hemi/six pack oil pans, (better than advertised). They are Taiwan light weight steel pieces, but will do the job. Almost 2 for one of the online price. Thanks Mancini
Too many cars, too many parts, too little coin, too little space to work in, too little time left to make it all happen!
Update: down to one ride, still too many parts, a little more jingle in the pocket, gaining space, and it's going to happen this year!
