I'm replacing the trunk floor on my 72/71 Cuda with a 1 piece AMD piece. The quarters have been cut out already. I planned to replace the tail panel with a 71 version. Would it be easier to replace the trunk floor with the tail panel removed?

I'm not an expert bodyman by any means and want to be sure everything stays semi lined up.

Here is what I mean by the 1/4s already being cut out

Where you're at now, do your quarters first. Then pop the tail panel and do the trunk and 71 tail.

No expert but from what I have read if the tail panel and rear cross member piece is out the one piece floor can be slid in whole.

yes - must remove the rear tail panel to install one piece floor.

trying to go from the side - quarter ( the trunk lid supports on the wheel wells will be in the way )

HOWEVER --- SENCE YOU PLAN TO INSTALL FULL QUARTERS WITH REAR PANEL - YOU WILL HAVE IT ALL OPEN ANYWAY TO DROP IN THE FLOOR PAN.

Advice* - BEFORE REMOVAL -take pictures all around the rear inside & out.

Take measurements of everything with notes of the original weld placements!

Thank you for the replies. I'll be getting re-educated on E bodies again, since its been several years since I had one.

Somebody here did a nice photo shoot of replacing the trunk floor (1 piece) thru the opened tail panel. I had it bookmarked, but when the new software was installed those all went south.
FOUND IT.
