After the car is built upgrade the motor. That's how I did it.

I picked my car up from a junkyard and built everything with the plan of racing it. Took several years but was fun building it.

That's the problem I just got the car together and now I'm getting crazy thoughts to add the turbo's we have laying around.

I had 43 runs on my stock block combo. Hit 30 psi on most of those. My short block is fine but I pulled it and went aluminum block to feel better about it living.

I knew it was on borrowed time, didn't want to ruin a good engine. But it let me sort out my homebuilt car and make runs for seat time. If you keep it at 15-20 psi with a good efi tune you should live a long time. But you plan on racing it so there's always the chance.
