hi, how good are your rear springs? they will fit ,but might rub at the top outer wheel well. put them on and have a buddy sit in trunk and visually check everywhere . I have that same setup on a 69 rt coronet and they fit fine. ronnie

springs are original to car although low miles 56k car sat since 1981ish
I was trying to determine before I bought these pricey redlines but if it meant getting a new set of leafs at this point wouldn't be a big deal
since im wayyyy over budget anyway
appreciate your input any pics of the rear of your coronet?? thanks....

8" is too narrow for that wide of a tire but people do it anyway.

Expect the centers to wear out quickly. You can drop the pressure a bit to help the wear but then you end up with a squirrely rear end.

We are brothers and sisters doing time on the planet for better or worse. I'll take the better, if you don't mind.

I agree with Feets as far as not-ideal width for 295/50, after doing that on my '68 RR. Haven't had any wear problem but not many miles (1500?) on the setup. Plenty of clearance on my car with stock springs, though it's a Hemi car with the XHD leafs. 15x8 Ramcharger steelies, Radial T/As. 265/50R 15 fronts, same wheels.
That said, to my eye the 50-series sidewall looks too short/thin, and I'd rather have 60 or 65 series tires on it.
