When I was born, my father owned a '69 road runner that was custom ordered with a silver interior and an Imperial (very dark) blue body. (odd combination) The car was a column shift 383 car and was a post body. Is there any chance anyone on the site knows where the car is? I've been trying to locate the car for a number of years with no success. The car was originally purchased at Lansdale Chrysler Plymouth in Montgomeryville, PA. My father sold it to a guy that lived in Lansdale. From there...?

I own the exact twin to that car in black on tan that my grandfather bought new. I'd love to find the old blue car.

Thanks for any help you can give. Tom

Do you have a VIN number? That would probablly help a lot.

I wish I did. I really have nothing other than the info in the post. My Dad doesn't have any of the old paperwork or records from the car. I believe it spent the first 10-15 years in the Philadelphia region. After that, it's anyone's guess. Thanks for your response.

I wish I did. It looks just like the black one only blue. It had Cragars bla bla bla. I just thought I'd take a stab at it and see if it jumped out at anyone.

You gotta stop up and see the 'vert some time. Have a good weekend. Later.

Was your dad the one who ordered the car?

I have a special order paint car and I've always wondered what a buyer had to go through to get that to happen. Especially for mine which is a color not even offered in the year my car was ordered.

That dark blue with a silver interior would certainly be a striking combination. Hope you find it some day.

Nick.

Does your state or neighboring states allow you to do vin searches or title history? do you know someone who could help you (DMV, police, county office?)

From what you gave us, the vin would start with RM21H9A or RM21H9G, I highly doubt it would have come all the way from the LA plant, do you have a time frame on when the car was ordered/delivered? the dark blue would probably be B7 in color and the silver int would really stand out.

You didn't mention any other specifics, but did it have a/c? air grabber hood? chrome covers on the post pillars? vinyl roof? Any old pics? when did your dad sell it? Was it ordered around the same time as your other car?

I don't have any pictures. There is one short take in an old 9mm video. It had no options other than the deluxe interior. That gave it the chrome pillars, exhaust tips, and two tone interior. It was ordered at the same time as the other car. I know it came from Lansdale Chrysler Plymouth. They are still in business, but have no old records...I asked.

I haven't done anything as far as a title search, because I didn't have any vin number etc...

The color was not a standard blue that was offered from the factory. It was a custom ordered color that was almost black.

Thanks for all your help.

I went and looked thru the paint chips at Barry's website and it show the Dodge and Imperial offered a EB9 Midnight Blue Metallic color, it looks black so I think that would be it. I have never seen a B9 colored car, ever.

If the other RR was ordered at the same time then I think that gives you a good start to a VIN search, assuming they came from the same plant and if it's possible to search, you may be able to find some cars close to that VIN and see what happens.

Thank you all for your suggestions. Since my dad ordered it new, is there a way to search the vin by his name? Would GG have a database like that? I have no idea.

The attachment is a picture of the black one. I have turned it into a 6-pack clone, but have all the original parts to return it if I ever have the gumption. It ran a best of 11.17 @121.4 wiht open headers and street tires. Tommy

It might be possible, I've never had to do a title search even here in MO, so I'm unsure of the process.

I do think you have enough info to get on the track though.
