For the most part, Dodge cars are bigger then the Plymouth. Dodge & Chrysler shared some parts, and Desoto & Plymouth shared some parts. I suspect the Dodge doors are longer then Plymouth doors would be.
Now, hopefully for you, someone will tell both of us my info is wrong. Gene according to my hollander, the door glass [which is listed as "vent type"] fits 37-38 chrysler bus. & sport coupe, desoto 37-38 bus. & sport coupe, 37-38 dodge bus. & sport coupe, and 37-39 plymouth bus. & sport coupe. the vent window glass fits the same applications as well as the windsheild. the back glass and the 1/4 window glass is not listed. so that, to my mind anyway, would indicate those glass parts would interchange as well. the roof panels, however, show 37 chrysler C14 &16,desoto S3[all coupes],dodge D5, and plymouth P3 &4 coupes as interchanging. in 38 it shows stationary windshield and swinging windshield with all fitting except plymouth. the doors in 37 & 38 show all business coupes interchange with all chrysler, dodge desoto and plymouth but note that the "ventless" doors will also fit. hope this has been useful info to some one and i hope i read the book correctly.

I was watching Dallas Car Sharks and a 38 Plymouth came across the action block. It got bought and was part of the show. The clown who bought it kept insisting it was an all aluminum car and it was worth a lot of money.
Yeah, I owned a 38 Plymouth, only aluminum in that car was the can holding my beer.
But I sure wished mine looked as nice as your Dodge does.
They say there are no such thing as a stupid question. They say there is always the exception that proves the rule. Don't be the exception.

I was liking how this build was going till I seen this picture. I understand how it is "CHEAPER" to go chevy but it's just sad that another Mopar will be out there with a bellybutton motor. a mopar deserves a mopar in it in my Opinion. maybe someone will buy it and put a mopar in it I doubt it but I can hope.....

I have built a few fords and a few chevys over the years. and I used a ford in the fords and a chevy in the chevys. but I am mopar loyal and would never build one with anything other than a mopar in it, I just think it ruins the car(again just MY opinion) chevy stuff can be sold and replace with mopar stuff on a mopar build, I have done this myself. sold a 350 and trans and bought a 360 and trans and had extra money too. I disagree with you on the pre 50 stuff because as the years go by 50's turn in 60's and 70's I have been seeing LS's in cudas and challengers lately and for some reason chevy guys think chevys belong in everything. I dont believe Mopars belong in everything and chevys don't either. oh well I guess you had to do what you did with what you have around, I just think it would have been cooler with a mopar in it.. good luck on your sale, it will probably go to a chevy guy and stay that way and thats to bad.. "Another chevy powered mopar" I hope no hard feeling, just rather see a mopar in a mopar....

You guys should chill out a bit. How many say nothing about other makes' seats, diffs, steering racks, wheels, lights, bumpers, front ends that aren't strictly MOPAR going into these builds? I see in the US a lot of vehicles use a Mustang 11 front, 9" diffs, etc. , etc. Can't you be satisfied in the fact that another Mopar product was saved from the crusher, whatever components make it up? From the outside, it still looks like the original. They're Mopar Guys so they're weird....nothing knew....LOL Most Mopar Guys are not true HOTRODDERS....just ignore the BS and thanks for posting up your very cool builds guys !!!!!!! Rickster

I don't care what rear end or front end you use under your car or what wheel, tires or paint you use,, "BUT" the engine choice you use in a MOPAR is the heart and soul of the car. I don't care how "CHEAP or EASY" chevys are. They don't belong in a MOPAR. Like I said before chevy guys think chevys belong in every thing, they just don't get it. it's just as wrong as putting a slant 6, 318 or a ford in a corvette or camaro, JUST WRONG!!!!! hell if you like chevys, fine, build one, there are a lot of nice chevys out there. If you build a Willys, austin, anglia or Studebaker and put a chevy in it your a chevy guy, so if you put a chevy in a mopar your a chevy guy. so why come on a "MOPAR" site with a Chevy powered mopar and think its a good thing. If you like chevys and think it's OK to put them in anything FINE. I will always believe a mopar should be in a mopar. I guess we will have to have a different opinion on what a mopar is. good luck with your mopar build

Could be worse the car could be still rotting away to never see the light of day again.I am a hot rodder not some anal purist and will use whats availailable and not have some stalled project like many. That is about the most lame excuse there is. He searched out and found a very nice clean Mopar body. It was not rotting away somewhere. He went through the effort and spent money doing all the other stuff, its just not that expensive to put a Mopar engine in it. The Chevy motor comes from being too lazy to locate the proper motor for that Mopar car, which would be a Mopar motor. In reality, a carbed 318 is probably cheaper then a carbed 350. Around here, small block Chevy motors (any size) that don't need to be rebuilt to use are very hard to come by. I doubt he has a rebuilt small block Chevy laying around, but if he does, he can certainly find a Chevy body to stick it in. You are a Chevy guy, you don't and will not understand. I'm a Mopar guy. I'm not going to waste a perfectly good Mopar motor putting it in anything less then a Mopar body. For the record, I would rather see that Mopar body sitting then to see another Mopar with a Chevy motor! Really, I'd rather see the Mopar body sold to a Mopar guy, then the Chevy guy can buy a whole list of Non-Mopar or Non-Ford projects just waiting for that Chevy motor. Then he can use what he has and be happy about it. The worst part is you come to a Mopar Board and brag about how you shoved another Chevy engine in a pristine Mopar body and try to make it OK because it was what "you had available". Some day, some of you Chevy people will encounter a real Mopar, that has been built right, and then maybe you will see what you have been missing all these years. Gene

I don't consider myself an "anal purist", far from it I am A hot rodder (street rodder). and if the "stalled projects" dig was aimed at me. yeah I wish I had better cash flow and could get my cars done like I did when I was younger. I have slowed down with older age. but between me and my sons we have like 10 projects to do most are mopars and will get mopars in them. 2 are willys, a sedan and a coupe that belong to my boys and they plan to use 440's in them.(because they like them) also we have a few extra BB and SB mopars here that we could use. but the one Chevy COE that we have IS getting a BB chevy and a 3/4 ton chevy chassis, went out and bought a running driving chevy truck for that project because we felt it was just right to build the chevy with a chevy.

Looking forward to my '69 Camaro build even more now. First thing I'm going to do is yank the small block and install a turquoise 318 Poly engine. Then paint the engine bay the body color. Final justification for the ultimate 'budget build' ride. #notsorry
