a relative of mine owns a 2012 Chrysler 200 and I noticed while riding with her it jerks it also will occasionally make a big BOOMP noise as well. its feeling like its when it changes gears ( its an automatic )
I thought ... torque converter???

she is taking a long 600 plus mile trip to see her great grand baby soon. I advised for her to not take it until its repaired to rent a car to be safe.

I don't have a lot of time I work a lot of hours
but if its not a biggie I may be able to do it for her so they don't over charge her like most places do

My neon was shifting erratic and hard not long after we had bought it years ago. I took it back to the dealer and they reflashed the computer IIRC. No more issues after that. It might be worth giving the dealer a call and see what they say.

Depending what engine/trans there is a flash a for shift improvements.

I am so afraid for her to drive that far in the heat and break down. she just had an emergency pacemaker put in as well. last month. a friend of hers is going with but its still not safe if the car breaks down

FYI, hard shifting is easier on the transmission than loooooong drawn-out shifts. Years ago my Mercedes surprised with pretty firm shifts. That was the reason.

I'm going through this right now with my wife's Hyundai. It shifts hard from 2nd to 3rd.
