How much lift can a dumbell style mechanical lifter take before running into problems on a RB block? Obviously you dont want the narrowed portion of the dumbell coming out of the lifter bore. Will they take say .340 cam lift?

I would say if they will work on a stockish lift cam then it will not poke out the lifter bore with a high lift cam because they actually make the base circle smaller not really the peak higher, mabey a hair. I do know on a small block some cams will let the lifter go too low and bleed oil out the bottem.

Thanks Dave, thats something I will keep an eye on. I can get a good deal on a set of them, and my new Crower mech cam didnt come with any lifters.

Thanks again.

Doc.
