Steve88 OP member S Joined: Jun 2007 Posts: 129 Springfield, MO	I am getting ready to do a cam swap in my 71 383 and I want to start with the best qauilty cam and lifters I can. I know that proper cam break in and proper oil is very important to the life of a hyd flat tappet cam but I want to make sure I use the best made products possible to try to make sure there are no flat cams in my future. I am not completely opposed to Comp Cams but I do avoid them when possible due to a past experience. This will be a very mild street type of cam. Thanks!

383man Too Many Posts 3 Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 27,421 Balt. Md	When I built my 493 I had a custom grind made for it and I went with Dwayne Porter who is one of the best there is on cams. If you call him and give him all your cars specs and tell him how you want the cam to work he will spec and make your cam for no more then most off the shelf cams. But he will know what will work the best for you as he is an expert on cams. I could not be happier with my flat tappet solid cam he made for me. He also nitrides the cam which harden's it and will get you the best lifter to use. His # is 802-951-1955 if you decide to call him. he is also very nice to talk with and wil help you with any questions. Ron
