Can any of you early A-body guys post a couple of pics of a 1966 Z-bar with a Ruler or Tape measure next to it? I've got the Z-bar out of my old drag car, but it has been broken-welded-gusseted-welded a couple times, and it doesn't look like a factory piece anymore. I'd re-use it but when they fixed it the first time they screwed up, and the geometry is wrong. It nearly wore off the stud on the Z-bar. It did wear a chunk out of the clutch rod, and it wored the back side of the ball stud (frame side) FLAT.
So I'm just going to replace the thing. I have 3 or 4 of them and one looks pretty close. I'm hoping to get a nice pic to verify.
Thanks in advance.

I just got a 66 four speed car but haven't pulled the motor yet. I don't know if I can get a good pic with the exhaust manifold in the way. If no one comes thru for you I'll see what I can do.

Can't believe I left that piece of info out. The car is a 273 4-barrel car.

Just call Brewers, I'm sure they'll give you the measurement.

I still need to see a pic, or reference drawing. Does the lower arm have a notch where itwould make contact with the firewall?
Anyone?

they generally hit from where the vertical firewall starts to slope, from that point down to the pinchweld or slightly below it. With my stock car I just beat it in with a very BFH which would not be an appropriate plan of action for you, so hopefully someone will chime in with pics.
