68 383 Cuda with a rebuilt 727 2400/2800 converter,going to use cable kickdown, but it is like pushing a car up a hill with a rope(it just bends), I don't need the kickdown, but hear It is needed for the transmission to work correct, help and options needed. Thanks

You got it installed wrong if you're trying to push with a cable. cables pull, not push. Here's Bouchillon's install instructions for your edification. http://www.bouchillonperformance.com/tqinstructions

Is this an original big block A body. If so why not use the mechanical linkage?

Thanks SuperCuda, DUH, just had a lightbulb moment, gee how did I make it this far in life,
Dart4forte, 68 383 Formula S, didn't have the linkage but had a cable kickdown given to me.
I wish I had the original linkage, one day!
I was doing this while recovering from surgery, I am going to use the excuse that it was the effects from meds.

I have a kickdown setup if you need one. It was powdercoated black so that will have to come off.

Fixed. Like I said when I PM'd you I looked last night and may have packed the linkage up in a box that is now in storage in Mesa. There's several other boxes that I'm getting reading to load that I'll check out this evening. I forgot to ask, do you have column on console shift?
