So I put a 1993 Dakota motor into my 1957 Dodge pickup. It is now running sort of! It will start and run a few seconds and then the engine starts sounding like it is slowing down and then it will die. It will not start again unless it sits for a few minutes It is a modded wiring harness done like the info I found here on the board. I have plenty of fuel pressure and a good spark at all times. Any Ideas?? Thanks moparts!!!

What are the error codes?

They say there are no such thing as a stupid question.
They say there is always the exception that proves the rule.
Don't be the exception.

It sounds like it doesn't like going into closed-loop mode. How much exhaust is behind the O2 sensor?

An ODBI should be able to live without a catalytic converter (OBDII would require, at least, a cheater for the downstream O2). Put a scan tool on it and see the live data. Might tell you something.
