Anyone know the best way to soak up transmission fluid?

While removing the transmission, I accidentally popped the dipstick tube off. Now I have a jack under the tranny in a complete mess of fluid. I can't move the jack, cause its holding the tranny, unless I position it back up and put the crossmember back in. AAAARRRGGGHHHH!

Paper towels?????

Cat litter or sawdust.

Oil dry. Local parts store has it cheap.

Baby diapers will soak up anything. I used to have a Chrysler 300 with a water leak in the trunk, I would put a disposable diaper in there and it would blow up like a balloon!

okay, well now I have two bags of cat litter down. not sure I'll get the jack to roll now, but we'll cross that bridge when we get there.

Usually my old jeans that are too holy to repair go to the garage to clean up messes like this.
Sweep up the kitty litter and mop up the rest with some rags..

yeup. kitty litter or oil dry. it's the same stuff but the oil dry is lighter and in my opinion, more asorbant than kitty litter, but they're made from the same stuff.

oil dry doesn't have that dang "fresh scent" that is so over powering, that you can taste it when you pour it out. I hate that about kitty litter.
