Congratulations n getting the ONE non-rusty vehicle in Minnesota. They are few and far between. My donor truck is a prime example, it's a '71 and the door hinges are literally pulling off the cab, you have to sort of lift and flip to get the door to latch. All the floorboards are gone, and the rust ate nearly all the way through the axle tubes around the U-bolts. And the U-bolts were so diminished by rust that they just twisted right off. The frame is covered by little corrosion pits, actually they're about 3/16 of an inch in diameter. I bet the frame has lost 25 lb of steel. It's kind of hard to think of a use for it except recycling.

This truck is from a rural part of the state but they use salt on all the roads just like they do everywhere else, and the vehicles suffer.

Glad you found the good one!

R.

Thanks....I truly feel blessed that I didn't have to sacrifice a complete West coast truck for my project...... I figured that I was going to only find what I was looking for in the NW or SW dry climate area's.....
