At this point still just a thought, this is a couple photoshops of the basic idea

Lookin' good!
Couple of minor tweaks, just to get your head spinning;
The front fender spear should be shortened to align with the back of the wheelwell angle, which is similar to the other chrome angle.
Fudge the rear axle forward a bit, so it looks a bit funny in the wheelwell.
Front bumper off? I like how they complete the front, and it's smart on a street driver, but it was all about speed, and a lot of gassers took those off.

The front bumper most likely would go away

The grill lends itself nicely to stick a moon tank in it

I think the two side pieces just un bolt on them

If not

So, maybe it will never happen

Want a 55 Hardtop or 61 hardtop -Plymouth

Nothing else works for me

With the gasser look I always think it looks better to have the cut wheel well then trying to tuck. The chrome would be an issue for me as it looks better with out it cut so do you raise it or remove it completely?

NOT a whole lot of diff between a 55 and 56 Plymouth ....IMO.

My first so-called HP car was a 56 Belvedere with a 392 Hemi.

And with wheel openings cut ..

I prefer the shorter fins on the 55 and the hardtop too me looks nicer

That car would look cool exactly like that, minus the nosebleed height front end. It just looks silly to me.

Now, if the front end was low, with the cut out wheelwells and ladder bars it would look tough.

Just my humble opinion.

Awesome! I vote for a hardtop, no front bumper, rear wheel cutouts. Both my brothers had 55-56 Plymouth 2 DR HT's in the sixties as their first cars. I guess maybe I need one now.
