Man you aren't having much luck! Did a cam bearing spin stopping oil to the heads? I had that happen once. Then I ended up rebuilding the engine.
You are getting anywhere with your one foot forward and two steps back. Hopefully everything works out.
Dave I'm not sure yet. I am going to start tearing it down this weekend. I'm not sure if it spun a bearing, or something got in while I was putting the heads on it and clogged the filter, oil passage, etc. The stock gauge was pegged over 80 psi and normally it would come down when it warmed up. It's disappointing, but I have to keep looking at the vision in my head of the "done" car... lol. I'll take the month of June to get it apart, clean it and do rings/bearings/gaskets and get it back in. I have a friend that has another crank, so I may get it cleaned up and buy new bearings and cam bearings and have them ready to go in. I priced most things out and I can probably get it cleaned up and back together for under $700. I kinda figured I would have some issues, but everything that breaks I have upgraded. Pretty soon the thing should be bulletproof!

Man sometimes a guy wants a new hobby when it's going like that.
Sheldon Lol. I agree. I thought about it. But I wanted to do it with what I could get my hands on, and sometimes you pay the price. I got to drive it, so that keeps the fire burning. I'll have it out this summer if I have to sell a kidney!

No worries. It's a speed bump in my road to tire abuse. If nothing is too hosed, I won't have a terrible amount in it. I'll put a new oil pump and possibly a new cam in it. Give me a month or so, and I'll be putting rubber to road. (P.S. I'm putting a MANual steering box in it while the engine is out...)

OK it's been a month - anything good happening?
Old, tired, and sometimes broke down. Me, not my car...

I'm kinda idle right now. I bought a '69 HP block, but ended up trading it and a '69 HP 440 block to my engine guy. He's going through the engine for me, due to my lack of a place to do it and the money to replace what needs replaced right now. New crank, new rod/main/cam bearings, new rings, ball hone, new timing set, new gaskets, new oil pump, and cleaned up and run in on a stand. The cam lived, maybe new lifters to come. I would guess in the next week I'll get it back and start looking for a place to put it all back together. Hope to be wheeling it again by early July.

Just talked to Mosier, and it should be ready to run by this weekend.

The engine is almost done. I should get it tomorrow or Wednesday, and hope to be running by the weekend. I'm way too anxious to give up now. Luckily it has rained constantly since it's been down, so I haven't missed much drive time.

It was in. Then it's back out... Sometimes it doesn't pay to get too excited and rush. It costs... I hope to have it up and going before the Nats. I am really getting good at changing things on it, though!
