This may come across as some what strange. But I have 2 hoods for a car that will get painted when the car does.
One is a Repop T/A hood {ASC&P or something like that The guy also air ballons} and the other is a custom glass r/t hood that I have had since early 80's
First off I was just thinking and am no way near needing to do this at this time but will need to at a later date.
Plus I am bored.
What is the best way to remove and reinstall a hood in the same place as before
What i am looking to do is have the option of Change from the T/A black out hood to the painted R/T hood with the center black as easy a possible for a differant look.

No I would not be changing every week but would like to swap them easy.
So is ther any easy way to swap hoods?
I have seen guys say they I have seen guys say drill 2 small holes one front and one back of the hinges before removal.So they could simply incert a drill bit in the 2 holes and toss the bolts in.[ie] Drill bits pushed trew both the hindge and hood.
I can't put holes in the hindge since in a moment of crazyness I had the hinges triple plated

So I am looking at other ideas

you should be able to drill with a carbide drill, that would be the best bet to get you in the ballpark.just centerpunch hinges first.

I use non-permanent ink and draw lines around where the hinges rest to the hood, kinda like a Sharpie but not permanent. I detest the clowns that drill holes in sheetmetal so it makes is "easier" to re-install the sheetmetal. I would NEVER buy a car with dozens of 1/16" holes all over it...

I thiught about doing that non perm marker but the T/A hood will be black{hot rod black from dupont}
Would 1/8th inch holes make ya happier?
Yes I have seen it done before and said

Why not just use a piece of masking tape?

Just use a sharpie, they sell them in a silver color that will show up fine on your back hood. Paint over the silver later if it bothers you.
