I havent read up on the Grid. It was my understanding that the ignition was capable of slew rate, timing control and rpm control, but had to have the add on modules to control them on the car. That was why the add on modules were illegal.

Who knows..

I still run a msd 7AL2.

I don't know of anyone running a grid, but the digital 7 boxes can pull timing out and all that jazz can't they?

We still use the 7al2 as well.. And Russ we use that same gold weight box with free weights in 10 lb increments. The weight seems to do ok... Sometimes with more weight we just hook up better and go faster lol

That's exactly why I no longer use weight. I don't think any of us have enough power to need traction control. I know I don't.

Russ, you just need some 50lb plates that can be bolted over the axles in the trunk, think you've seen that before, as far as the grid, I went to Mopars at the Strip and visited with a bunch of my old racing buddies this spring, didn't run the car just flew out. But some old friends of mine who run stock were running the grid, and its legal if its the one where you can just review your run, but you can make changes in timing also.

I have been slowing my car down from a high ten second car to an 11.50 car for many years now. Last year we tried 11.50 index racing and Won a Track Championship. I don`t use weight ( I`ve had one hernia surgery and don`t want another) but I use a Moroso throttle stop , mine is modified a little but it bolts to the corner carb bolt and can be set to restrict the throttle from opening all the way ,on my car the secondaries are barely opening and one turn is about 6 hundredths. A word of advice if you use it don`t just use the one bolt to hold it as it will turn slightly on the stud/bolt. I purchased the Jegs throttle cable/return spring bracket which also mounts to the carb bolts/studs and simply drilled another hole and added another bolt so it can`t move. I have considered a plate system but my results with my current set-up have been great.
