Whats the best source for a used aluminum drive shaft to have made for a 70-Body with an 833 and 8-3/4 rear?

A dodge/chevy truck? then have turned/modified?

Thanks

I got one from a 88+ GMC 1500 single cab longbed truck. Chevy used steel for those years. The GMC one is 68" long with a 4" tube wrapped in some kind of black plastic for rock protection. I have not cut it yet for my 65 b-body.

Later model crown vic police cars have aluminum DS with 1350 joints IIRC.

I found a 4" piece under a Ram van. Dakota R/T's also have aluminum shafts.

That's what's in my 2000. I think the yoke will fit a 727/833 too.

That's close to what I'm hoping to use. I picked up a new alum. shaft from a Detroit swap meet a few years ago that's for a Durango R/T.

lucky dog...I get it was a bargain too. Looks like an aluminum DS is around $400 or so to have made.

Id rather have a nice take out and have it cut if need be.

I seem to recall mine being marked $45, and paid $30 IIRC. Has two new joints, a yoke and vibration damper on it...just like they get them at the factory.
