Please assist me with any info and knowledge that you might have in regards to the maximum tire size that can be placed under a 1968 Super Stock Dodge Dart Hemi clone that has been mini tubbed and also had its leaf springs relocated inboard.

I am trying to determine the largest width and height of drag slicks that can be fit under my dart. Listed below is what I have done so far, and the size of the rear wheels that I have.

This is what I have done thus far to my stock 1968 Dodge Dart 270 that I am converting into a Super Stock.

I obtained a rear wheel well template that was traced from an actual 1968 Dodge Dart Hemi S/S. I then placed it onto my stock 1968 Dodge Dart and cut the wheel openings.

I moved my stock wheel wells inboard to gain a larger tire. This tech article is very helpful ( http://www.bigblockdart.com/techpages/wells.shtml ).

I moved my leaf springs inboard to gain a larger tire. I purchased a leaf-spring relocation kit from Mancini Racing ( http://www.manciniracing.com/manciniabody.html ). This tech article is very helpful ( http://www.bigblockdart.com/techpages/springs.shtml ).

I purchased two brand S/S new leaf springs from Mancini Racing ( http://www.manciniracing.com/mansupstocsp1.html ).

I purchased two vintage 15''X12'' Cragar Super Trick wheels from a local speed shop that have a 4'' back spacing.

I have an 8 3/4 axle housing that I am going to shorten to accommodate for the rim/tire combo.

My two main concerns are, I do not want the rear of the Dart to sit up extremely high like a monster truck, and nor do I want the tires to stick out and look like the car came from south of Texas....

Thanks for the assistance!

I helped a buddy mini tub and relocate springs on a 69 dart years ago and the Goodyear 29 × 12 filed up the wheel well. Or Hoosier 29.5 x 11.5 would also work.

I have a real 68 Hemi Dart with inboard springs and tubs to the frame rails, and I have 15x12 Super Tricks on it right now that I will be replacing with vintage aluminum slots. I can see what tire I have under it when I get home tonight and post a piture. I believe they are bigger than posted above, but can't remember with my feeble mind at the moment... eyes

I have a '69 Dart that I just finished up the narrowed rear end (46" flange to flange) that has the spring relocation kit installed and wheel tubs to the frame rails that the previous owner had done. I just put 325-50 drag radials on 10" wide cragers with 3.75" backspace. I also installed new super stock springs while everything was out. The previous owner had cut the wheel wells similar to a super stock car. I have plenty of room all around. About an inch on the inside and should clear a stock wheel opening by an inch or more. Height wise the super stockes are a bit high so far, but I know they will settle out soon. I still think I could run a 30" tire on the street without any rubbing.
