It seems like this post was deleted for some unlikely reason. I was just starting to get some good responses and now all lost. Frustrating indeed, but here goes again.
Has anyone found it strange that the Strange rear DA #S5082 aluminum shocks are too short with SS springs?
When I let the rear end drop, the shocks don't reach the rear mount points. I remember that the shocks had to be longer with at least 24" of extension in order for the springs to work properly by arching and lifting the body and planting the rear under launch.

These shocks are brand, brand new and not used at all, just trial fit. This after I spoke with one of Strange's techs.

If you let the rear end hang and the shocks arent longer
than the mounts by 1"... then they are too short

What is your shock length at full extension? Some of the SS springs that were made in Mexico are weak and hang low when the shocks are removed.Try jacking the rear to meet the shocks at full extension and check ride height. There are also shock extensions that are avaliable that add 3" to the bottom bracket.

Shock fully extended is only 19" center eye to center eye. I remember rear shocks needing to be at least 24" fully extended in order to work properly with SS springs.
My springs were bought directly from Mancini as they told me their springs were made here in the states under the original specs of the Chrysler SS springs of yore. I know, I'd never try and run Mexico leafs.
These are Strange shocks now. Today, the lady there told me that leaf springs are all the same. That is when I said I'd wait for the original cat returns from vacation that sold them to me. It was looking to be a heated debate between me and her. At last, she admitted that there was something strange about that Strange shock because it calls for at least 22-3/4 fully extended. This is my first attempt to working with adjustable shocks in the rear. Calvert 90/10 up front.
