thanks for the reply,TJP. does a c-body use the 11/16 grommet hole on both ends like a a-body I'm not looking forward to pressing out rubber bushings on four shocks or trying to drill them.real pita! surely other abody guys have dealt with this problem. I'm used to b -body's shock crossmember with a thru-bolt. wondered how these a-body studs sticking out of the trunk handle the stress, anyway

looking through my monroe master catalog, the a-body rear shock has L-2 ends, which are 11/16 dia. with no metal sleeve. this is the standard shock plate diameter for the b & c bodies, as well as the i/2 & 3/4 ton trucks. the a-body lengths are 14.125 collapsed and 23.500 extended. the only thing i could find that had the L-2 ends top & bottom was the front shocks for 61-71 dodge 1/2 & 3/4 ton 2wd trucks with the beam axle, and the same shock was used on the rear of P-200 camper conversions 69-71. the number of this shock was a rancho LE10022. the lengths for this was 14.880 collapsed and 25.00 extended. also, this has been a discontinued number, as i could not find a superseded number, or current availability in a current monroe catalog. you may find an off road place that has a listing for these, but it looks like you are going to have to push out the upper bushings on something more currently available. hope this has been of some assistance.

I just bought a pair of these 71 dodge truck front shocks. They do have the L2 type ends and are 15.250 compressed 25.625 extended. Monroe number 37189. They are stock looking plain black shocks.
