I am the new owner of this 63 Chrysler (413 ci) - It's huge and cool, but I have no idea how to understand the format of this fender tag and/or decode it.

Please help explain how the numbers and letters on the top row correlate to the codes below them. I have not seen a decode list that explain how this works.

The old fender tags are much easier.

---> The photo of the fender tag is at the bottom.

Thanks for any help.

Mike

Here are a few features about this car, and still trying to find them on the fender tag.

413 4-BBL
Power Brakes
Power Windows
Cruise Control
Front and REAR Air Conditioning
Push Button Shifter
Square Steering Wheel
Black Vinyl Seats (seats 9)
Luggage Rack

I hope this helps...

GG has decode books for sale.

A 22 engine and transmission usually means a slant six with a torqueflite. But I wouldn't think that a car like that would get a /6. So perhaps the codes are different for the big Chrysler cars?

Nice ride.
I have a '62 NewYorker Wagon and also a '64 NewYorker 'salon'. This '63 is a mix of both.
No Chrysler came with anything other than a bigblock in the '60s.

Thanks for the reply.

I have a decode book but it only goes back to 64 and the codes are not compatible. This car still has it's 413 with factory AC and power steering, etc..
Surely someone will be able to decode it.

Thanks Again

Assuming paint is planned are you going to two tone that beast?

Some nice color combos come to mind.
