Need to relocate ( lower) my Alt....does anyone know who makes low mount Alt brackets for BB?? Just need the brackets, already have good Alt. Has anyone tried to mount Alt on DS head??? I may give it a try.

Do you have a motor plate? What kind of alternator are you running?

I make a bracket kit to hang a small alternator from the motor plate. Doty makes a low mount kit that hangs from the timing chain cover.

How about mounting it( make a bracket) off of the power steering pump boss bolt hole on the water pump housing

Mine won't fit with the way my plate is in the Duster...Mine has tabs for the plate on the inside of the frame rails instead of on top...Really sucks.

Here's AndyF's (AR Engineering) setup, works great.

My friend and I use a Toyota Denso alternator with this setup and it is by far the best charging system I've ever had.

Prosport....Im not running an engine plate....Heres pictures of what im working with. The oil drain lines are in the way. Alternator is a full size 140 amp Powermaster. Only had it 1 year and would rather not have to buy mini one. So I need low mount brackets for a full size alt.

I don't know what kind of car you have or what it was built for but I would strongly consider an AndyF motorplate, they're affordable, practically bolt right in, allows more header room, and makes life easier for mounting an alternator, coil, etc.

I have one installed in my Duster and it will probably never see a race track, it just made everything easier to go that route.

I think I am going to get one of these low mount kits, to make room for a procharger on the passenger side. I want to keep my power steering!

Why not move the oil line a little bit? Looks to me that you could rotate the oil line just a little bit to make room for the alternator.

You should be able to rotate the oil line out towards the header just enough to miss the alternator without getting into the headers. At least that is how it looks in the picture. Not sure if you have anything else in that area. You might need to get another line built that is a couple of inches longer but that would be cheaper than building a custom alternator bracket or a new alternator.
