Guys like Charlie never fully retire so if the right person stepped up and bought it I'm sure he would do some consulting work. When you work that hard to get a quality company up and running for years, you would hate to see it die.

...Seems I remember YOU saying you were retired,,,,,maybe YOU could step up and set an example about "never fully retiring" and buy it??

I almost choked on my spit when I read that one. This would have to be a younger person with money.

These ( I call them kids) wanted to surf the web and text all day instead of learning the job. Department heads told my boss they didn't want the kids and keep sending the oldtimers. I didn't mind doing my share but slowly we all got tired of forced overtime, getting sent on every break-down, and watching the kids drink coffee in the shop everyday.

Sounds like the place had/has very poor management. And then they wonder why production goes to places like China !!

As much as I had to see him close up I can certainly understand his decision.

Who else is out there we can look to for his quality and customer service?

Bill

I have a pan from these guys and it seems to be built pretty well and no trouble with it so far. http://www.stefs.com/stefsindex.htm

I just had Kevco build an aluminum dry sump pan for me. They were good to deal with and the pan turned out great.
