Putting everything back together after freshening at machine shop and noticed that one of the Comp roller lifter links "clicked" each revolution.
Upon further inspection I found that just this one lifter bore is loose or worn. The lifter has a lot of play in that bore. Am I looking at having all bushings installed?
At least I found this before I had the motor completely together and in the car
Thanks Mike
p.s. What is the going price of having the bores bushed?

Your block could have come from the factory with an oversize lifter. Aren't Mopars fun?

Check all of them The price is determined by the shop that can do that job, Mopars have bigger lifter bores and sizes than GM and Furds so the shop needs the proper tools to do them

Mr.Cab Racing and winning with Mopars since 1964. (Old F--t, Huh)

Sure are; especially when you can't buy oversize lifters. Mine were oval(Small Block), so I had them bushed. $450 total on a Rottler, so I feel I got a bargain. The good news; the machinist said I would gain some power.

Yeah, it's got a smallblock.

Thanks for pointing that out. An aftermarket block "should" have all the holes in the right place and the right size. Don't all laugh at once!

Been running this block for 8 seasons. Never noticed the problem before .All the other seem to be ok. Just glad I found it before running it this year. Could have had the lifter break and take the motor out!!!
I did find a shop that has done Mopars before and as soon as I get it all back apart again I will have them bush this bore and check the others.

Since he is running rollers that are linked together it would be smarter to have the pair bushed.

There is little guarantee that the lifter bore geometry is right to begin with, unless the shop doing it is just going to bush the bore in it's present angles, which may or may not be correct.

Depending on when it was done , and who did it ... Cummins Recon .... , you would be dollars ahead just having all the bores bushed while it's in the fixture.

Figure $750 for the whole job?
