I'm converting my 3 on the tree /6 to a 383 4 speed. When welding in the hump do I trace the hump and cut all metal out or do I cut a small portion of metal out and weld in the hump? Seems to me I should trace the hump, then cut all metal out then weld hump in place. Thoughts or pics? Thanks

Trace it, and then retrace inside about an inch. Cut the inside line and cut all the metal out, BUT STOP where the torsion bar cross member is. Don't cut the floor pan there or else stuff can collect in there. DAMHIK.
