My 71 barracuda is missing the front valance, and ive been looking high and low, and cannot find one. Anyone repopping these? Mines a lowly barracuda, so i am definately not paying the 1500 price tag on ebay for a NOS one. Of course im going to need the expensive parking light housings and lens. This car is ridiculous to build and just get complete with the limited parts. Yes this is my first one, so im arriving late to the party I suppose. Getting frustrated for sure. I cant find the grille inserts for a decent price either.

You chose the most spendy Mopar musclecar to restore.

Well...call Mike at BE&A Parts (www.beaparts.com) and ask them whether they'll ever repro it. It's been in pgclassics catalog forever.

Maybe AMD will someday repop it? Hell, w/an NOS one on e-bay, AMD should buy it so that they can repro it (too bad I think they have to destroy it to make the die press for it).

AMD should have them available next year. I was told Spring at the earliest, but with all parts don't be suprised if it dosen't come out until late 2009.

If money is the determining factor you could always modify a later year valance to work on your 71...Should only be a few mounting holes IIRC.. You'll be forking over the loot for the rest of the missing parts though...

I think PG and Mike pulled the plug on them.
AMD may be the only shot for these.
I owe a guy one. He would not sell it to me but let me use it as his car is a long way from being restored.

Hey Jason, Ive saw the 71's you've had in the past, surely you have one laying around for less than 1500 . Seriously, thats why i posted. I saw the one on ebay, and went no freakin way. I would certainly pay to play...but its a 318 car, and im not going overboard on it. Just not happening. I realize it costs the same to build a 318 one as it does a 440 one....but you just cant find a decent 71 for a good price. Being that I paid 6000 for it as a running/driving project....i thought i couldnt go wrong.

Finding a used one shouldn't be too hard...just keep looking . I know DAYCLONA had one advertised here for sale, but I believe it's been sold already....Have you read all the ads here carefully?

Yes i sure have. I also emailed dayclona, with no response, so im sure i was the 100th person to email him about it, so he was probably tired of answering that email.
