I'm looking for a grille emblem for a 70 GTX. I came across an ad for a nice original and in the ad they touted that this was not a repro and wouldn't warp like the repro's do from sunlight and radiator heat. Has anyone heard of problems like that with the new one or is this guy just a good salesman?

Repro emblem quality has been an issue in the past. Depending on when and where it was made will give an indication of the quality. As well as what material was used. If you can afford it, and the car is worth it to you, buy an original. If it's just a beater or something you're going to flip, then it probably doesn't matter.

A pot metal repo is NOT going to melt or warp in the sun. They do feel softer to me that being said compared to the originals. I have a repo that has been on my car for 20+ years and it still looks fine.
