Sport,

Thanks for the kind words.

the 517 has 11.8:1 (IIRC) and a Bullet 264/268@.050 Hydraulic roller, it revs safely to 6800-7000, it's the only motor I've ever needed the shift light for it gets there really quick, especially for a big block.

Going to 4.10's and an aluminum flywheel 4 speed (what the car originally came with).

Chip, I'm sure porting is all dependent on the type of manifold (ex: Tunnel ram vs a 1 4BBL) and the level of work involved.

Do you know Hollis at HP, Chip? If not I'd really suggest you meet him and Larry, I introduced Stephen Daurity to him back around the Holidays, Absolutely GREAT Mopar people to work with.

www.hpengines.net check out his Facebook page he's got some pics of Larry's work, I know they just finished a 5.0 Coyote motor and the heads looked AMAZING

No, I don't know them. I've had good luck w/ a local shop here (Jordan's Performance in Conway) since I stopped doing my own machine work.
I was just curious what they charged to do your manifold...I'm sure mine would probably be more. It has a lot of material to work with.

Depending upon floor architect of the plenum,
on the crossram,
Larry may have some pointers to help with
Puddle. Whether it be grinding, reshaping,or
perhaps epoxy depending on fuel type used.
Plastic bolts on the lid is good insurance too.
Btw, streetwize your intake looks great!

Well hey Hollis! Heard a lot of good things about your shop!
My Barton hemi manifold is not the crossram...I have the single 4500 manifold.

The plastic bolts idea is really good, thanks for that.

I have the Barton single too, and have thought about having it cleaned up. But everything is so hush-hush. I would just like to know how much improvement can be had and how much it would cost. But I just never see that info. With it, it would be a simple decision.

If you get it done, if you would share the bottom line, I would appreciate it. If there is enough to be gained to justify the cost, I would like to have mine done, too.

Oh, can I play "post a picture of a ported intake plenum", too?

Here's an older pic into the heart of my Franken-intake RB M1 4150.

On a Street Dominator (similar to the M1) I always make the #1 and #7 roof a slightly taller Trapezoid (Gumby's head, I call it) than the port next to it in the plenum (in this case #2 and #5 respectively) that pulses before it. It seems to work really well judging from before/after plug readings where #1 and 7 were a little lean.

In a single plane with adjacent firing holes the first fed tends to be the best fed on many Siamese port heads and intakes. An old NASCAR guy taught me this many moons ago.

I used to have some shots of my SD mods (in rough, unfinished form) that illustrate it but I think I conveyed the Gist of it.

I think I'll be bringing Mr Larry some more stuff to whittle on Purdy soon, very happy with the quality of the porting work, it's a shame to cover it up with a carburetor now

That looks awesome Bobby

I'm anxious to hear how the stroker likes that manifold.

Fwiw mine was installed straight out of the box and wasn't even port matched to the EZ 295's. Compared to the taller ICH 440-2 it was only down 10hp on the dyno in back to back tests. I'm sure your's is every bit as good as the ICH piece if not better

AndyF stated in the past that the 337 and Super Victor were identical on his dyno mule making in the 800HP range.

You can't beat the 337 for those of us who are clearance challenged wanting to run a stock hood.
