For my setup (1987 D100)in the front,I want a disk brake pad that will work well when cold and be relatively dustless and quiet. The rear will be a different story as I am installing a Dana 60-2 with 4.10 LSD and 12" Jeep drum brakes. Since the rear brakes don't do much of the work of stopping the vehicle, shoe material won't be an issue as long as they are in good shape. And both the trailers that I will be towing have electric trailer brakes on both axles per state law, there will be no problem there.

I use the Hawk Performance SuperDuty Brake Pads in the front of my Dodge diesel 2001 3/4 ton and like them. Good stops with the cabover camper on the back.
