I like to do things out of the ordinary and I am considering converting a 413 long ram intake to EFI and using it on my 71 Roadrunner. I did some research and it seems some say they intake will not fit without hitting the shock towers then some say it will. I know there were two versions of the long ram with some being shorter than others so I thought maybe the shorter version would fit but I am hoping someone here onthe board has more info. Thanks!

The diifference between short and long is that the long rams had the divider all the way and the short rams had the divider missing for some of the length. IIRC they were both the same physical length.

There B-bodies out there with the long rams, every one I've seen has a box built in the right inner fender for the plenum.

You are correct. The outside dimensions are the same short and long.

Yehp outside dimensions the same and it will hit the shock tower if you don't mod it

And also no room for conventional power brake booster.

I contemplated doing a long ram in a 71 B body, but after measuring a set for mock up, there's no way without some fender and master cylinder mods, the best way out, esp if your doing a custom EFI set up is to fabricate your own ram manifold using steel tubing, this way you can better manage the layout inside the engine bay
